Thanks for all the comments - it's great to hear about others' experiences. Went to see my nurse today who has no further solutions apart from only having a pill free week four times a year. That means only about twelve days of headaches a year, but I don't think it's ideal.

I've been on the pill for almost 2 decades with no problems, so I can't help there. But I suffer from severe headaches, so I can empathize and have to say, do whatever will help the headaches!
